Description

The Washington Post is an American daily newspaper. It is the most widely circulated newspaper published in Washington, D.C., and was founded on December 6, 1877, making it the area’s oldest extant newspaper.

Located in the capital city of the United States, the newspaper has a particular emphasis on national politics. Daily editions are printed for the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. The newspaper is published as a broadsheet, with photographs printed both in color and in black and white.

The Washington Post offers 12-week paid internships for reporters on the local, financial, sports, style and editorial desks, as well as internships for visual journalists, multiplatform and interactivity producers and web designers.

Eligibility

You must be a college junior, senior or graduate student enrolled in a degree program on Oct. 16, 2016. You must have had at least one professional news media job or internship.

Benefits

Interns are paid. For summer 2016, the salary was US$750 per week.

Application

For the 2017 summer internship program, application materials must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. ET on Oct. 16, 2016. Complete the online application and attach all relevant materials, including résumé, work samples and autobiographical essay. All work submitted must be in English.
